Frolicking Birds and a Fence

I was lucky to catch a male Mallard Duck flapping its wings in the water.

The detail and the colouring on the feathers is simply amazing and beautiful.

Not to be outdone by the ducks, the Canada geese were making their presence known.

  7. I always appreciate your attendance and linking at I'd Rather B Birdin'. Sharing with us birders is highly appreciated. Thanks. I would be thrilled to time the shutter on the camera just as the duck's flapping its wings. And the Canada Geese are amazing too.

  13. Hello!:) Thank you for your visit.:) Well, these Mallards seem to be having fun. The fallen branch over the water gives them a great perching place. That's a really nice shot, but the closeups are lovely too. Have a good week!:)

  14. The lucky males always have the nicest plumage and I like the iridescent green of the mallard's head. Great captures of both species.

  23. I think the patterns of birds' feathers are just amazing. The colors all fit together so precisely with the feather patterns, no messy edges. And then they molt and all feathers fall out and come back exactly the same way. Miraculous!
