On the Road Again

On the road again
Just can't wait to get on the road again
The life I love is making music with my friends
And I can't wait to get on the road again
"On the Road Again" by Willie Nelson

Another whirl wind trip has been completed.
I got home very late on Wednesday and was quite tired but had some missions business to attend to in Kenya.

That done, I tried to do a number of things: call my mom to let her know I arrived safely home, partially knit a new dishcloth, view & cull  trip photos and prepare this post.
I thought it would be nice to share a lot more photos this time of the road trip especially since the weather was quite variable throughout.

I'm not sure what happened but it took several tries before the mosaics were successfully saved.

Starting out in Vancouver it was raining. I didn't start taking photos until almost in Chilliwack. Here is a map just to help situate you if you are not so familiar with the Province of British Columbia.

A map is always nice to situate oneself. We travelled from Vancouver through Burnaby, Surrey, Chilliwack, Hope, Merritt and Kamloops (Merritt is located just south of where it says Logan Lake).
Clicking on the collages/mosaics will enlarge them a bit.
Highway & weather between Vancouver and Hope

The weather conditions in both directions was much the same each way; raining in the Lower Mainland and
scattered cloud in the Interior.

The gusts of wind were quite chilly. Most definitely not like the past few months.

A small group of 5 enjoyed a combination of Chinese cuisine topped off with sodas and white cake as per my mother's favourite cake. It was all quite the starch overload today.

I compensated by having water and a chicken Caesar Salad for dinner as well as the requisite road beverage, coffee!

The tops, skirt and care package here were all gratefully received but the telephone has to be exchanged since the new set didn't have clips to attach to clothing.

As always I managed to tidy the dresser drawers and closet, cull the clothing and put away all food snacks.
It is always a quick journey requiring days of preparation to make sure everything is done just right.
This trip went very smoothly and enjoyably.

I hope your week is going well.

I love long drives especially with views as such on your pictures! They look breath-taking! Oh Canada!!! I really want to visit Canada last month while I was in Seattle! But I did not push through my ferry to Victoria because I do not have a Canadian Visa, just a US Visa so I might not be allowed to enter Victoria :( Hopefully on my next trip to Seattle :)

Much love from the Philippine Islands!

Gorgeous photos of a really lovely area of N America! I recently read The Curve of Time about a widow and her five children on a 25 foot boat exploring Vancouver every summer. It was delightful. Enjoyed seeing your photos very much.

I thoroughly enjoy visiting your blog, Penny! Makes me feel like going on these journeys with you; what a spectacular scene along your road trip. I haven't been to Canada in decades, and I do have friends there in different parts. Glad you enjoyed your time with loved ones to celebrate your mom's birthday...many blessings sending her way! My daughter's birthday is also coming up on the 7th of Sept. kids are out of school that day for Labor Day and we will have a nice weekend celebration. Keep up the good work you do for humanitarian service...and BTW 'On the Road Again' has been an all time favorite song of mine, you did it so cleverly to fit it in to your post!

One of my favorite songs...It is often used as our theme song when we're "on the road." If Willie only knew! You have some very lovely photos, especially the one coming down through the pass! Have wonderful day!

I lived in Washington state for a few years when I was in my 20s and love the northwest. I could never leave New England though...it's where my heart is.

We love the scenery of our neighbor to the north! In fact will be heading to Vancouver BC on Sunday to take a cruise from there to Los Angeles - a quick three night adventure but it is always beautiful sailing out of the Vancouver harbor past Stanley Park and under the Lion's Gate bridge!!

Beautiful and familiar sights - I live just off your map on the Island. I always enjoy the changing landscape, from coast through forests to semi-arid. You've captured them all beautifully.

You've been very productive. Speaking of your header, I love it too. That's very beautiful.
Re: your comment on my post
I heard that in Japan, many people have suffered from dehydration due to veryhot summer. They too are experiencing the effects of El nido.

Here at ours, it's also strange. The hailstorm last Monday was the 2nd one this summer (I forgot to mention in my post). The first one was in July, it also caused damages; broken windows and windshiels.
