Scenes From My Night Walk

Hello friends and fellow bloggers,

It snowed today but mostly at higher elevations and it melted quickly thereafter. For us, it was mostly a little rain. I went out for a walk after dinner. It was noticeably lighter than it has been for months due to the time change on Sunday where we set out clocks forward by one hour.

The provincial government announced that this past weekend is the last time we will be needing to change our clocks. I'm very happy about that as it's been a long time coming. We'd been told that we were waiting for our southern neighbouring states (Washington, Oregon & California) to also make the change so we could all be on the same time.  That no longer seems to be an issue and the decision has been made so now we are on permanent Pacific Daylight Time. 🎊🎉🎊

It took a turn the last 2 nights toward colder weather.  Even so I spotted these daffodils on my walk.  Daffodils always make me smile.  I remember years ago when I was in university. I travelled with a group of fellow students in April to a different city in Canada each year for a conference. Each time, one of the Vancouver program directors would arrange to take bucketfuls of daffodils to where ever we were congregating.  As he handed out spring flowers to people who were still in the depths of winter he'd gloat about the weather back at home.  It was all in good fun and people took it well.

It's just one of many lovely memories I have of university years. Those years were a lot of fun.

I wish we would do away with DLS time.

Oh I adore daffodils -- my favorite flower, but now I seldom see them because we spend winters (and early spring) in Florida. so I am so happy when fellow bloggers share theirs. Thank you. So, are you saying that BC is staying on Daylight Time, or going back to standard? If Daylight, I wish Oregon and Washington would do the same. I like the longer evenings. Even here in sunnier Florida I appreciate the change. ... By the way, I have a new blog home as my old provider went out of business. I think I successfully got my blogger profile changed, although my new blog is on Wordpress.

We just changed time by springing forward one hour. We will now permanently remain on Pacific Daylight Time. It means during summer season we'll be aligned in time with the west coast of USA. There are 2 small areas of BC that are on Mountain time aligned with Alberta. I'm so glad you enjoyed the daffodils. Ill try to find your blog. Thanks for visiting & commenting.

I love those night walk photos. The daffodils are lovely too. WE cant grow them here in the sub-tropics.

Oh thank you for enjoying my night walk photos. I love walking in the dark when the lights are on and things look so pretty. I'm glad to share the daffodils with you too. They are an early spring flower here and I call them a 'happy' flower because of their bright, sunny yellow colour after a dull winter.

I understand you Red. Let's hope the Alberta government makes it happen.

Lovely photos here, Penny. I wish we could stay on Daylight time forever.

I love the lights at night! The firest photo especially. It would be so nice if daffodils lasted all summer long.. and tulips, hyaciths, etc. It's sad when they are done. Lovely photos. I enjoy seeing your town.

I'm glad you enjoyed the photos Jeanie. I understand Congress has to agree to the time issues in your country. Here the provinces and territories have jurisdiction over the matter. Even so, it's taken forever to get to this point.

Thanks Annie. I'm glad you like the first photo. I've discovered that it has been featured in television and movie series shot in the city. Or at least one television series for sure. I happened to spy it when watching the the television one day. I agree that it's sad when spring flowers are done. They are so pretty.

Not so sure about the snow bit love the daffodils. We are missing all out spring flowers this year being in SA but I would not change the plan for the weather in France. Very wet and floods, thank goodness our house is on a hill! Take care and keep warm, Diane
