Mountain Moods

An individual has not started living until he can rise above the narrow confines of his individualistic concerns to the broader concerns of all humanity.

 ~~~~~
I captured the mood of the mountains at several stages this past  weekend. It always fascinates me how quickly the weather conditions can change.
We were expecting a big snow storm on Saturday but it didn't amount to much; at least not where I live.  We did get a mild sprinkling of snow on the mountains and in the city which you can see in the photos below.
The storm did arrive overnight on Sunday. This morning's news said that some schools were closed up the valley, about an hour or so away from me.  Big snowflakes were falling here outside my window a few moments ago and fog shrouded the mountains.
Right now though, the sky has cleared a bit and the snow has stopped.
I am not sure what the next few days has in store.  So far it is not too bad where I am but I intend to stay cosy indoors.  This is a good time for me to "catch up" on housework.
You did capture them in a variety of weather.
We are waiting anxiously for some stormy weather. It is in the forecast and certainly needed. I will miss the delightful weather we have been experiencing but it will be worth it. We need the rain.
Thank you, Kay. I'm glad you enjoyed my mountain shots. I'm so blessed to see them each and every day, except when they are enshrounded in fog (not often). Luv, P
Fantastic view of the mountains from your window! I love seeing the snow fall. I love playing in the snow. But when I'm finished, I want it to be gone and not become that half mud-half snow splishy splashy mess that it often becomes. hahahah. Beautiful time to relax by a cozy hearth.
Joyful said...
Aw Gattina, it is such a pity you cannot enjoy the mountains every day. But I think your travels keep you happy1
Joyful said...
Hello Moni, I'm glad you are keeping warm and cosy. It has turned cold in much of my province but I am warm enough inside. Have a wonderful day!
Joyful said...
Thank you Fred. I understand what you mean. When I was growing up we had a month or so of muddy experience when the snow was melting. Where I live now we don't get much of that. I can't relax by my hearth because it still isn't working. I've been researching who can come over and fix it.
Yes, mountain weather changes by the moment. I think that's what I love about it. Very cold here in CO today - minus temps.
Between the mountains and the little birds that come to play, I can keep quite entertained. Thanks for stopping by :-)
