Under a Cloudy Sky

After some glorious sunny days, it started to rain again as is the norm in our Winter on the West Coast of Canada.  It rained quite heavily on Monday.  These photos were snapped earlier this week during a break from the rain.

It was nice to see the bird's nest among the bare tree branches and the bird flying against a patch of blue sky.

Joining in with Skywatch Friday and Saturday's Critters this week.

Thanks for stopping by
and
have a wonderful weekend everyone!

  2. Your images of the sky and the birds are awesome, Penny. Would that be a stork's nest, I wonder... Saffe travels (if you're on the road) Hugs Jo xx

  3. Your skies are fabulous -- and that nest amazing. I think that's the home of one big bird! Do you have herons, eagles, hawks? I wonder what it is!

  4. Beautiful skies. Do you know what the bird on the wing is? I don't recognize it.

  5. I enjoy your ski shots but I could never get used to the west coast rain. I ge enough west coast rain when I visit my son in Maple Ridge.

  6. Hi Joyful, Red has an interesting point. It does take some time to get accustomed to the west coast rain. When I first moved to Seattle many years ago I thought I would not like the climate. As sometimes happens in life, experience can change one's thoughts. These days I usually enjoy the rain ... being inside when it's raining it seems cozy and relaxing. You've been quiet this week ... Hope all is well. Take care and have a good weekend.

  10. Hi Joyful, Please excuse another comment, but I thought you would enjoy this: Last night on TV our local weather person said we have Officially set a new record in Seattle: The 3-month period of December, January, and February, with over 23 inches of rain, now equal the wettest on record! Wow! Understand, this doesn't necessarily make me happy, but it sure makes me appreciate the sun breaks! :-)

    1. LOL, that is quite the record, John. I'm not sure if we've set any where I live. It eems like we've had more dry days than usual but on the days we've had rain, it has really rained a lot. I do appreciate the breaks, sunshine or not. Have a great week!

  11. Hi Penny, as for cloudy skies...we've had our share of those here in S. Florida for the last few months...only to have the sun peak out even for an hour which makes it nice. We have been getting so much rain in the last couple months, and winds that are totally strong, and not so great!
Thank you for commenting on my blog, I am feeling much better now...after losing my dear beloved sister, and a month later having a freaky and weird at home accident...yes, I am feeling much better now...physically, mentally, and emotionally; as they say "life goes on"...and we have to make the best of it, which I say, and quote, as well! Have a wonderful week! xoxo
