First Day of Clear Sky

We've been experiencing very poor air quality as a result of the wild fires that have been burning in Washington, Oregon and California states.  I've had to keep all doors and windows closed and stay indoors for five days.  On Wednesday the sky finally cleared a bit and it was such a relief to be able to go outside and to breathe better air.

These few photos were taken as soon as the sky cleared in late afternoon Wednesday. Then within a few hours the sky darkened again. I wasn't quite sure if it was due to the fires or if rain was on the way. Then it rained Wednesday night. The sky cleared a bit on Thursday and it rained a little again in the evening. We are expecting more rain over the next two days.

You do have beautiful views from your patio, and your flowers also look so pretty. I am glad the skies have cleared for you. Praying the fires will soon die down. So many have been displaced and have lost their homes. It is so sad. And then the hurricane over in this part of the country, again causing so much difficulty for people and their homes. Praying for all. Have a blessed and beautiful weekend my friend.

Hello,
Pretty skywatch images. I hope the rain would help clear up the air quality from all the wildfires.
Take care, enjoy your day!

Beautiful photos. Our skies here are still a little smokey... not as bad as they were, but not as clear as yours. Have a nice, and safe, weekend!

I am happy to see your clear skies. It's been frightening just seeing your situation from afar and our haze was a fraction of yours. Also happy you have had some rain. I hope your air quality continues to improve and that these fires can be brought under control.

Beautiful pictures, such a blue sky. We're having lots of scirocco here in Sicily and the sky is somewhat cloudy, but it's still quite hot.

You are not alone when it comes to the smoke from the fires. It's not nice.

It is awful when the air is full of smoke. We had it last summer. Rain is good though, clears the air and puts out the fires.

Your header shot encompasses so much and is a lovely unique capture. My little corner seems grayer than yours, although undergoing similar smoky conditions from the fires. Luckily, rainfall is on the way.

The US and Canadian west has had a hard time this year. Our air is a little hazy today from the fires.
