This post is in remembrance of the many veterans (and those who supported them) who fought so valiantly that we might enjoy the fragile freedoms we have today.
I hope the younger people will try to continue to remember. I read in the news on November 10, 2020, that fewer Canadians bought a poppy this year than in 2019 and many don't know what the poppy represents. Here is a link that will explain the Poppy Campaign and the importance of it.
On Wednesday, November 11 at 11 a.m. I will remember the mighty and the fallen.

A sobering time. War is an awful thing. It is hard to find poppies in the US now.. I had a new one every year but now I don't even see them being sold. Times are so sad.

ReplyDeleteMe too Joanne, these days we at home can find poppy boxes in participating stores. You just leave your donation and take a poppy. Also one can buy on line and at the legion.

Thank you Teresa. I love to see people wearing poppies too. These days there are so many kinds of poppies and it's great that people are invested enough to create them. I'm watching what is happening in the US and I pray that it can once again be united. xx
DeleteI don't know when I last saw poppies being sold here in the USA. It's been a while. Maybe I'm just not in the right places out in the "country" and not the cities. Thank you for this excellent post to remind us that freedom isn't free...many people fought and died for our freedoms. Our young people today just don't seem to get it. They think everything should be given to them. It's so sad what our society has become.
