Al, I love to see flowers and other plants too when I am on a hike. Nature is so beautiful.
Jan, I was thinking of lovely summers as it has been raining almost every day here since spring. In fact in the province next door to me they were expecting snow again. They've had it so many times this spring already. I do wish the sun would shine just a little ;-)
Hi Laura, I agree that simple and little every day joys is what makes my day. That is actually why I started this blog a year ago now. I wanted to take time to smell the flowers ;-) Now my friend Jan has started this lovely meme, Simple Joys Saturday.
Darrel and Ruth, thank for stopping by and leaving such kind comments.
KleinsteMotte, thank you for your visit, a comment and a correction. I've gone and made the change. I hope your banana/apple loaf turns out. Maybe you can post a photo on your blog when done ;-)
Doyou know how the time of my post to you is set? My previous post says it was 8:38PM. Right now my time is 4:35PM. It's still a while 'til 8:30. I'm in the eastern US time zone.Which time zone are you in? I'll try to make the loaf in the morning. It will make a nice addition to a Sunday lunch.
Yes, my time is set to Nairobi time as I communicate there every day so you are not imagining things. I'm enjoying my banana loaf and I'm sure your will enjoy yours tomorrow. Have a great evening!
Hi Joyful - beautiful photo. There is so much beauty in creation. I also love the photos of the moon in your previous post. Thanks for visiting my blog today.
----------------- I've entered a major international photo competition (details are on my blog) and would be most grateful if you'd click through and rate my portfolio (just click on the stars at the bottom (preferably the 5th star - "fantastic" - LOL), easy peasy, no registration or personal details needed). Thanks so much!

This is a lovely gospel song sung in Swahili and has special meaning for me. It is special because on my first trip to Kenya a group of orphans encircled me and sang this lovely song. It really touched me. No one translated the song for me at that time. Though I could not speak Swahili I knew it was a worship song unto God. I tried to track the song down for a long time. Every time I would ask a Kenyan friend, no one would know which song I was trying to recollect. I only knew the words "Ni wewe bwana" and decided to search on YouTube when I couldn't get any of my friends to help me find the song. Guess what, I found it! (Update: It has already been some years since I found it and had a Tanzanian friend translate it for me.) The version I'm sharing is the same song but this one on the video is sung to a slightly faster beat. It is sung by well known (now deceased) Tanzanian Gospel singer, Fanuel Sedekia. This song gives me joy and lifts me u
It's my birthday. I'm not into big celebrations or at least haven't been to date. But I do like a cake now and then to mark the day. This is the cake shared with a family member. It's my favourite cake because of it's light texture. It's made by a local Chinese bakery. It has real whipped cream, vanilla cake (so light too) and fruit cocktail.
Hi friends, I'm popping in to let you know that things are getting increasingly busy for me as I deal with a couple of major life happenings and on top of that spring work and maintenance. My plan is to stop posting and surfing blogs for a month or two while I deal with things. Posting doesn't take that long but I get very distracted because once I'm into blogger I begin reading and often commenting on posts. It's fun, but time consuming. Hopefully by staying off line for awhile I will be able to do everything that needs to be done. Everything is good. I just need to focus right now. In the meantime, I'm sending you all best wishes for a wonderful season wherever you are in the world. Where I live it is springtime but still a bit chilly. I've been hoping for warmer weather and sunshine to better show the cherry blossoms. However it has been raining a lot and is still a bit chilly. Keep well and stay safe.
Very pretty. Flowers are certainly one of life's simple joys. I love seeing wildflowers when I go hiking.
ReplyDeleteYes there is beauty and joy in every bloom. Lovely reminder of summers past and the summer just around the corner.
