Reminiscing

The weather has been very mild of late and we haven't had much rain for awhile.

Thursday we were back to a bit of rain. (Thursday night was very windy so perhaps Friday will be clear skies again, woot, woot!)

It got me reminiscing about warmer and sunnier days.

I went through my archives and found these beautiful sky photos from summer 2012.

I hope you enjoy them.

If all goes well a friend and I will finally go and see the new movie about Nelson Mandela's life, "A Long Walk to Freedom". Both of us have been wanting to see it since we first heard it would be released in December.

Have a wonderful weekend.

I am joining in at Skywatch Friday today.

Hello Joyful, First of all, thank you so much for stopping by my blog and leaving me the kind comment yesterday, and most especially, the reminder to stop by Snap That. I am just starting my 4th year of blogging and your post, "Guiding Words for 2014", was just right on target for me ... like you had written it just for me. Well, during the fall of 2013 I had exactly the same feelings about blogging that you had. You might have noticed that there were only a few posts on John's Island. It has been difficult for me to find the balance between putting up my own posts and visiting the other blogs I follow. I view my blog as sort of like a digital form of a diary. I think I got this from my grandmother ... she kept a wonderful daily diary for almost all of her adult life. It is great to go back and look at the things she wrote during the time I was growing up. It sort of organizes things and, in a way, simplifies looking back. That is what I hope to do with my blog. The really cool thing about blogging is that we can find other people who are on a similar life journey. Following them, and reading how they are dealing with things, adds a whole new dimension to a happy life. Your thoughts about balance, simplicity, and streamlining, together with your spiritual beliefs, make your blog especially meaningful to me. I'm making a note on my list of 2014 resolutions to keep a closer eye on Snap That! And, one more thing: I especially enjoy the way you are so in touch with nature. Your sky photos and flower pics are often like ones I would choose to post on John's Island. So, again, thank you for the time you put into your blog, know it is appreciated, and please keep in touch. Happy New Year to you and your family! John

Beautiful skies, and the thought that those clouds sail over summer weather is just...well...warming.
Did you like the movie? I would be interested in your thoughts after viewing it.
