My World Tuesday - May 25, 2010
I was on a walk earlier this week and wanted to share some photos of the houses in the area. If you look at the map below, the area in which I took these photos is represented by the purple house icon.
Many of my blog readers are from Australia and Africa and are curious to know how we live in Canada and what the houses, shops and tourist sites look like. This post will give one little peek into some of the housing here though there are many other neighbourhoods with many styles of houses and apartments. This particular neighbourhood is a well established one and the costs of a detached home in the area would run upwards of $1 million Canadian dollars. Perhaps they even cost more than that as a fabulous two bedroom condominium here can now cost over a million dollars at the higher end of things. That is a lot of money but these are by no means the most expensive properties in the city.
You can check out the real estate market and see what is available in different parts of the city at this site used by realtors. Click here.
Enjoy the tour.

What a beautiful place you live in! I could happily nest in any one of those lovely places... And that wisteria is gorgeous!
I got the chance to spend some time with the Windhover & her new husband this weekend - wish you were there too!
Hi Shell, I'm delighted you were one of the first to take a stroll through this lovely old neighbourhood with me. I'm so glad you liked it too! I'd sure love to have you as a neighbour.
I also would have loved to have spent the weekend with you and the Windhover and her husband. I'm sure you all had a fabulous time of sharing. Lots of love and hugs. xx
Lovely leafy green area..... do you live along this street somewhere?
Beautiful photos.
Hugs and Blessings.

A delightful stroll it is! And what lovely houses! We live in an old neighborhood here in Seattle and it is quite nice, but have to admit it's not as lovely as this! Lovely photos! Hope you have a great week!

Hi Jan, thank you for your visit and your kind remarks. I was on my way to the bank near this neighbourhood.
Hi Sylvia, you are my southern neighbour ;-) I love the old neighbourhoods. I'm sure I would love yours as well. Thank you for stopping by. Have a great week!
Hi there..I zeroed in on that Wisteria and those pink lilies?! I think the architecture is pretty nice actually, but I've been living in the country for too long! I grew up in California and the houses were pretty close together like that too. Anywho, my best to you-
Nice dwellings - it's also nice to see no security fences and signs saying "Armed Response"
What a lovely older neighborhood. I'm sure all those houses are well kept up.
Very pretty! YAY for Spring!
Very nice, looks like any street in the USA too, hugs and have a blessed day. Barbara
Beautiful houses. Nice capures!
Thank you for sharing.
It's just beautiful, the house's look like a set from a Movie!!
Those are beautiful street scenea. I always enjoy seeing photos of neighborhoods. I have relatives who live in Vancouver, but they don't live on any of these streets! Very nice...and I love all the trees and greenery.
Smiles, I would love to live there as well; it's beautiful! And to have you as a neighbor, well that would be sweet!
Vancouver has the highest prices for real estate in Canada. The neighbourhood looks well cared for.
Thankyou for the stroll through your neighborhood, now I feel like I have been to Vancouver! I love the houses and the wide streets! There is a pink flower in the first photo that looks a little like one we have here called "agapanthus". Can you tell me the name of the pink flower on the long stem, it's beautiful. love Lynn xx
