I'm always partial to sunsets, but the cloud that looked like a smoke ring was quite interesting. Thanks for stopping by and commenting on my Skywatch and Powtown Post articles. Writing for another blog is fun, and you meet so many new people that way. - Margy
Beautiful skies, Penny. Thanks for the wishes for Angus' birthday. Yes, Elijah (fourth of John's six children) is on 21st. That's your birthday, isn't it? My brother-in-law (Grant's brother) 19th which is also Keren-Happuch (john's number six) first birthday and then Elijah who'll turn four on 21st.(and you, dear Penny) My sister, Rose in Spain is the 28th and a niece in the UK 31st which is also an old Jewish friend of mine now moved to a Hebrew Old Age Home in Pretoria.. Lots of birthdays in May! Blessings Jo
This is a lovely gospel song sung in Swahili and has special meaning for me. It is special because on my first trip to Kenya a group of orphans encircled me and sang this lovely song. It really touched me. No one translated the song for me at that time. Though I could not speak Swahili I knew it was a worship song unto God. I tried to track the song down for a long time. Every time I would ask a Kenyan friend, no one would know which song I was trying to recollect. I only knew the words "Ni wewe bwana" and decided to search on YouTube when I couldn't get any of my friends to help me find the song. Guess what, I found it! (Update: It has already been some years since I found it and had a Tanzanian friend translate it for me.) The version I'm sharing is the same song but this one on the video is sung to a slightly faster beat. It is sung by well known (now deceased) Tanzanian Gospel singer, Fanuel Sedekia. This song gives me joy and lifts me u
It's my birthday. I'm not into big celebrations or at least haven't been to date. But I do like a cake now and then to mark the day. This is the cake shared with a family member. It's my favourite cake because of it's light texture. It's made by a local Chinese bakery. It has real whipped cream, vanilla cake (so light too) and fruit cocktail.
Hi friends, I'm popping in to let you know that things are getting increasingly busy for me as I deal with a couple of major life happenings and on top of that spring work and maintenance. My plan is to stop posting and surfing blogs for a month or two while I deal with things. Posting doesn't take that long but I get very distracted because once I'm into blogger I begin reading and often commenting on posts. It's fun, but time consuming. Hopefully by staying off line for awhile I will be able to do everything that needs to be done. Everything is good. I just need to focus right now. In the meantime, I'm sending you all best wishes for a wonderful season wherever you are in the world. Where I live it is springtime but still a bit chilly. I've been hoping for warmer weather and sunshine to better show the cherry blossoms. However it has been raining a lot and is still a bit chilly. Keep well and stay safe.
