Hello everyone,
It continues to be a very busy season. I always feel like I'm running to catch up but I am enjoying life and I hope you are too.
In one of the blogs I read, Affectioknit, Teresa, wrote about her intent to donate her long hair to charity. She's already done it for several years.

Hair yesterday before hair cut (sorry about the lighting) |
I thought this was a wonderful idea. I've long wanted to do it myself but seldom have long enough hair to do so.

My hair now |
This year things changed. I haven't been to the hairdresser for so long. It gave my hair a chance to grow. I've been planning to go and get my hair cut off as it was getting far too long to brush and stay neat.
The reminder to donate hair to charity came at the right time.

I did some investigating and found a place near my home that will accept hair of all kinds.

Locks to be donated |
While I am not entirely happy with my hair cut, I can live with it and it will grow out. I am pleased that I have enough length to donate to someone who can benefit from what otherwise might go in the trash.
Have a wonderful week ahead!
Good one. I have not heard about it before.
ReplyDeleteawesome gift from you dear.
ReplyDeleteI think that is a wonderful gift, by the way I love your haircut.

Nice hair, I just love red hair. I am taking gelatin and I know that is supposed to strengthen hair and nails so we will see what I get. lol
ReplyDeleteI've always thought that was a wonderful thing to do, but since I only seem to have a half inch off at a time, have never been able to do so. When I had long hair, it was before this started. I applaud your action here and rest assured -- it does grow back or you can have it restyled!
ReplyDeleteOh I love your red hair its very pretty x
ReplyDeleteGood for you! I think the new cut and color looks great!
ReplyDeleteHi Joyful, This is something new for me ... donating hair. It does sound like a kind thing to do! I think your hair is pretty ... both before and after the cut. :-) Hope you have a great week ahead.

Visiting you from Deb's blog today. So glad I did. You have beautiful hair. I've had several friends that has donated their hair to make wigs for cancer patients. Back in my younger days my hair was down to my hips but as each child came along I got shorter and shorter. Now..I cannot imagine having long hair again. But for me it works. Hope you have a great day. Hugs and blessings, Cindy

ReplyDeleteOh sweet friend, I think it looks lovely and ever so healthy! Your new style is simply beautiful :) I got mine cut into a pixie about two months ago and I must confess that it can't grow fast enough! While the pixie is fun and cool in the summer I greatly miss my long hair.
