In these closing days of the month most people will probably write about Hallowe'en. I don't celebrate Hallowe'en so this isn't that kind of post but the photo content seems to fit the season.
This is a different sort of post for me.
I'm featuring a few photos and an attempt at a verse to go along with them.

spiders spin your web
on tangled roots standing tall
and catch bloated drops
If you like to write poetry (it doesn't need to be Haiku) perhaps you would like to share a short verse about the two photos in the comment section.
That might be fun!

If you don't want to do that, that's fine too.

I can't think of anything at the moment. I do love your photos, very unique, I always love to see driftwood, the sea does change a piece of wood so.
I don't celebrate halloween either, I don't decorate for it at all, either. It's a day that I ignore completely, or I should say that it's just a regular day for me. One in which I give God all the glory for!!!
Hugs, Cindy
I love it! Thanks for playing along :-)
I understand, Cindy! I do love driftwood too and it was a special treat to find a few spider web masterpieces spun onto the dead tree roots. Hugs. xx
Among the confused and complicated old wood roots
The simple spider spins its intricate network of webbing
Not to compete but to compliment
Not to detract from but to add to - the beauty!

Amongst roots, silver-grey,
aged and brittle;
tiny spider weaves her life's work,
unaware of admiring eyes.
That is so so beautiful Penny. x

Yes there certainly does seem to be a lot of spiders out in the wood. I don't seem to have as many in my own home this year :-)
Penny, I love your beautiful fall header photo, and of course the apropos photo of the tree branch and spider web...for what its worth, here's something:
Mother spider,
spins her web,
The silken threads just
follow where she goes
where the wind blows.
HAPPY NOVEMBER!
Hugs,
Hi Joyful! I love your header, the colors are so pretty. (I may have told you that already, but it's still true!) Your photos and poem are just lovely, and I wish I could write you a poem. I don't have that gift, but I like to read yours :)

I'm a bit late to the Haiku party, 5-7-5 construction, but here is my contribution to the first image.
