It's a New Year

These first two photos were taken with my phone camera about 1 hour before the last two photos.

The light changes fast at this time of year.

Last year I chose two words to guide me for the year rather than setting out a long list of goals like I have in year's gone by. The list of goals really helped me and for the most part I achieved them but I now feel like trying something a bit different so will choose one word this year to guide me.

The word is

Good Morning Joyful, Your blog is an inspiration to me ... what a great idea to pick one word for the year. And such a great one to pick! If we all concentrated on this wouldn't things get better? I think so. You have some neat photos with this post. May I recommend linking up with SkyWatch ... they are at skyley (dot) blogspot (dot) com People who enjoy sky photos will love your shots. Hope your new year is getting off to a good start. Thank you, as always, for your kind comments on my blog. John

Hi Joyful, Please excuse another comment. Yesterday my thoughts often drifted back to what a great idea it is to choose one word as a guidepost for the year. Then, in the afternoon, I was surfing the web and happened to find an article with this second paragraph: “Giving ourselves a mental makeover could be just as important as giving ourselves a physical one. But accomplishing that doesn't just lie in changing our thoughts -- it's also dependent on changing our words.” Although it isn’t about just one word, it does kind of go in the same positive direction. I just wanted to share the article with you and if you will do a Google search you will find it … “15 Phrases That Will Change Your Life In 2015 Huffington Post”. Wishing you a fine weekend! John

The one-word I'd like to focus on this 2015 would be "consistent." I'd love to maintain the things I enjoy doing and to cling more to God's wondrous promises. May joy fill your life as you continue to help and make others happy.

Stay blessed! :)

Hello John, thank you for the suggestion to link up with Skywatch. I often do but this week I was a bit late so didn't bother. Maybe next time :-)

Hi John, thank you so much for your additional comment (no problem, come back as often as you like!). I will surely check out that article you mentioned. This blog of mine was actually one way to change my thoughts ( to keep them consistently positive during an especially difficult time of challenge). I've found it really helps and so I don't want to become complacent for we are bombarded daily with the negative things and must do our work to counteract them. Stay blessed and positive :-)

Hello Gattina, we had a bit of rain and a bit of cold. We were supposed to have snow this weekend but right now I only see it on the mountains. There is still a lot of weekend left so it might happen later. Stay dry!

Hi Cynthia, I'm glad you enjoyed the birds on the wire. I always get a smile when I pass so many sitting together on the wire. Enjoy your 2015 and may it be all you ever hoped for. x
