Right on time for winter solstice which I seldom pay attention to, except this day gains in more popularity as weather news item like this.
I went out early evening on an errand and found it a bit hard to navigate. It was rather icy in places. It was also very wet at the street corners. One has to jump across puddles. I used my walking poles to navigate the sidewalks.
From here on in I'll look forward to the increased daylight hours.

I am also looking forward to more daylight, these long dark hours make me feel very tired. How fun that you got some snow! My daughter in Vancouver messaged me a photo yesterday, she was so happy about it!

It's beautiful! Snow is expecially nice when you don't have to go out in it. Although I live in Colordo it looks like we're not going to have a white Christmas, in fact it's goint to be unseasonably warm. Merry Christmas to you!

I saw the same bright pink sky in the morning and thought of the old saying, "Red sky at night, sailor's delight. Red sky in morning, sailors take warning." Sure enough the next day we woke to a beautiful (albeit slippery) wonderland. Just as well it was a short-lived snowfall with the busyness of the season. Merry Christmas to you and yours, Joyful! You certainly have the right name for the season. :)
