End of Summer

 Hi friends and fellow bloggers,

I've been meaning to post these photos since the latter part of August. I took these at sunrise. I will miss getting sunrise photos now that summer is pretty much over and the sunrise later.  Once we are into our rainy weather there won't be much of a sun to capture so I will enjoy through my photo memories. I hope you like these ones.

I didn't spend much time in the garden over the summer or sitting on the patio as I had planned. Nonetheless the patio garden gave me enjoyment whenever I went out to take photos of the sky.  The garden has just a bit of life left but it won't be long before it will be completely finished for the season.

I'm not much of a gardener and I don't honestly enjoy it all that much. But I do enjoy seeing colour when I go out on the patio and that is why I do it.  I have two gardens.  One at home and one at the park.  This year the one at the park didn't get any attention.  Due to Covid 19 I hardly ventured out.

How about you dear reader? Are you a gardener? I think most of you have much larger gardens than I do.

I much prefer to read or crochet.  Right now I'm reading my 50th book, A Letter From Paris.     You can read more about it here

I've really slowed down the reading since I completed my 45th book, as 45 is my goal for 2020 because  I want to start doing some other hobbies soon. That plan might be a little difficult because I've currently got a lot of books on hold at the library and the local branch is reopening in 4 days.

I finished the following books since my last post on books.   I can recommend them all except the book, Behind Her Eyes, was not my cup of tea at all due to the metaphysical aspects of the book ,lucid dreaming and body switching.  I didn't know what I was getting into when I read it. I just thought it was a murder mystery thriller.  I understand they are making it into a movie so it's probably a movie I will pass on.

It is a long weekend here at home but I have a lot of errands to do.

I hope you all have a safe and healthy weekend.

   Linking up with Skywatch Friday.

Dear Penny,
...the sky is so amazing...I remember in North Dakota...sitting around the pool one August first with another Little League Mom...when Scout was still a boy...and it was chilly...on August 1st...I know that sounds strange...but she said...well, it's August...summer is over...haha...it seems so strange remembering that because in North Carolina...it will probably be sometime in October before we think that...
~Have a lovely day!

Hello Penny,

Your sunrise is beautiful, love the sky images. Hubby is the gardener in my family, but we only plant a few flowering plants for our deck. I like seeing the colorful blooms, like you. The mystery books are my favorite to read, I am reading the latest Louise Penny's All the Devils are Here. Take care, enjoy your day! Happy weekend to you!

Beautiful skies, and did you notice that bird on the electric pole in almost every picture? He was posing for you! Love your flowers. I am not really much of a gardener either. I buy plants and stick them in the ground. I water them when we don't have enough rain. If they grow, good. If they don't...oh well, I tried! It's too hot here in the summer to spend much time out there messing with them. My sister has the green thumb and she has beautiful flowers. Somehow I missed out on that trait when the family genes were being distributed. LOL. You have quite an interesting selection of books there. I have not read much at all this summer since our library has been closed, and I don't do e-books. Reading is more of a winter thing for me for the long dark winter nights. I hope the library will be back up and running soon. Enjoyed your post! Have a wonderful long weekend.

beautiful sunrise photos! I'm not so good at gardening, but I love the few plants that I do have on my front porch! Summer is still in full swing here and it is H O T!

Beautiful sunset photos. As for gardening, I am not sure that I really enjoy it, my back certainly does not, but I love the results and the fact that we have fresh fruit and vegetables pretty much all year round. Nigel had decided that cutting hedges is now too much for me and we get someone in to do that. Because of his PN his balance is not very good so he cannot stand on ladders to do jobs like hedge cutting.
Take care and stay safe, Diane

Very pretty sky shots! I can't believe summer is coming to a close. We are going to having scorching hot temps this weekend. I'm looking forward to cooler temps. Have a nice (long) weekend!

I'm getting ready to do a book post too! My goal is 60 and 20,000 pages. Right now I'm at 47. I'm not sure I'll make the page count but maybe the book count. We'll see! Love those gorgeous skies!

The bird on the line certainly stayed around a long time.

I could have sworn I commented on this! Gorgeous skies and loads of books. My goal is 60 -- I'm at 48 now. Also aiming for 20,000 pages.... we'll see. I'm impressed!

Dearest Penny, what beautiful skies and what a pretty patio you have. Very neat and colorful. I'm not sure if you remember my parklike garden in my "previous privileged life" ? I have hundreds of photos on my digital photo frame through which I relive that part of my past. I've shared my humble garden with you on WhatsApp and am getting it going again for spring. In fact, I have posted about it today! I like the look of Behind her Eyes. I always enjoy seeing what you read as I am an avid reader as well. Be safe, dear Penny. Jo xx
