It Was a Spectacular Day! ~ Skywatch

Hello friends and fellow bloggers,

It was a spectacular, sunny day where I live. It's still rather chilly from my point of view but the weather reporters keep telling us it is going to get very warm and above seasonal temperatures by the weekend. So we'll see how tomorrow goes.

I had an unexpected trip to the dentist today to a repair a tooth which broke yesterday.  I walked to my appointment and took the following photos to share with you.

Thank you for stopping by!

A Beautiful Night ~ Skywatch March 8, 2024

Hello friends and fellow bloggers,

I hope you've had a great week!

I took this moon shot a while back and haven't had a chance to share it yet.

I was out for a late walk and was happy to both see and capture this moon. It was so clear and bright.

Lately it seems a lot of my Skywatch Friday shots are taken in the night. Of course it's due to limited daylight at this time of year but that should soon change.

I'm looking forward to Spring.  🌸🌸🌸

Enjoy your weekend.

Skywatch Friday ~ March 1, 2024

Hello friends and fellow bloggers, Happy March to you all!

A few days ago I shared some early cherry blossoms but since then it's turned colder. We're expecting very unsettled weather for the next week or so.  I'm hoping consistently warmer temperatures arrive in a week or so.   In the meantime, I'm preparing to plant some seeds so I have something to plant in the garden.

These sky photos were taken today around dinner time. The sky looks menacing but the temperature was much warmer than it was on Tuesday night when we had a bit of snow.

I baked a bit of bread last night. There's nothing nicer than freshly baked bread with jam and butter and tea on a cold night.

Skywatch Friday ~ January 27, 2024

It's the last Friday of the month!  I hope it been a good month for you.

As for me, it's taken me awhile to hit my stride but that is not out of the ordinary for me.  Each year it takes me a while to really get going no matter how organized I may be.

We've had heavy rainfall for a few days and thankfully it's melted all the snow.  Today (Friday), the sky cleared for a bit and enabled us to clear the patio deck for the renovations that start next week.  The preparations have taken long to get to this point. I'll be glad when it's all over and done and I look forward to a new patio and garden.

Have a great weekend.

December 1, 2023 - Sky Over Vancouver

Hello friends and fellow bloggers,

Happy new month of December to you. I hope you all had an excellent week and are looking forward to the Christmas season.

I took these photos on Wednesday as I made my way to a particular produce store in the Downtown Eastside of Vancouver to see what kind of fresh produce I might find there. The store is very well stocked and has all the basics one would need. I was looking for a variety of fruits and didn't quite find what I wanted. In any case, I had a nice outing and I took all these photos for you.  They were taken between 4:00 and 6:00 p.m.  I tried to snap as many photos as possible before it got really dark.

Linking up with Skywatch Friday today. Thanks for stopping by!

Skywatch Friday - First Post in November

Hi friends and fellow bloggers,

It's the first Friday post in this new month of November. I wish all of you a pleasant month despite the chaos and horrors on the world stage. May each of you have the strength and fortitude and joy you need to live each day.

This month I'm sharing a number of night shots. I don't have fancy camera equipment and I'm still learning how to take a good night shot with the new phone camera.  Some of these are okay but I'll need more practice. If only I could have patience to read up on 'how'.

I was able to get these night photos because we've had about a week of very cold, dry weather. We are back to rain as of yesterday. When it's raining the sky is usually not clear.

I'm joining in with Skywatch Friday. Enjoy your Friday and the coming weekend.

Relaxing At The Waterfront

It was a spectacular day on Wednesday and again today. I had to go downtown on Wednesday and took a detour afterward to the beach and waterfront.  A lot of other people had the same idea because we don't get so many sunny days in late Fall and Winter.

If you missed my frugal post, you can view and read it here. I'd love hear your tips in the comment section. I'm joining in with Skywatch Friday. Thank you for stopping by.

Skywatch Friday - Remembering August Days

Hello friends and fellow bloggers,

It's been pouring rain here the past few days and nights. It is extremely wet since Tuesday though we've actually had rain for about 2 weeks now. It made me nostalgic for blue skies.

I don't think I've shared these photos with you yet. These were taken in August when I went to the University of British Columbia (UBC). There I was participating in a study conducted by a doctoral student in Engineering. His study is looking at the use of ultrasound and MRI to determine whether these tests are effective diagnostic tools for liver issues. I really enjoyed meeting and talking with the student from China and his Canadian colleagues.  I'm not sure when the study will be completed but I believe I will receive a copy of it once it's done.

It was a beautiful day that day, not too hot and not too cold. These days it seems like our weather goes from one extreme to the next so having a beautiful, moderate temperature day is a real gift.

Happy Friday to all of you and particularly those of you participating in Skywatch Friday. Stay safe.
