Following the Sky

This was the scene as we made our way from Kamloops to Vancouver this afternoon and early evening.  It was all kinds of strange weather on the way home.  There shouldn't be such cool weather and snow this late in the season even through these high mountain passes.

It was snowing just a short way into our journey and it snowed intermittently.  I thought the strange weather made for interesting sky photos for today's Skywatch meme; especially since there were also bits of blue sky and some sun here and there.

This is nearing the home stretch as we cross the Fraser River on the Port Mann Bridge.

Just as we crossed the bridge into Coquitlam it started to rain.

Then as we drove on it stopped. I expect there will be rain overnight or perhaps tomorrow.

there's a lot of drama in those skies. the cloud formations are wonderful and so low in the sky. it seems like typical April weather with intermittent showers/sun moving through. we've had cooler-than-normal temps here too. You live in a beautiful area, and your series of skywatch photos is extraordinary. have a great weekend.

Diane, the snow was in the high mountain range not down in the city, though it was cold when I was in Kamloops and it did snow a bit over a 3 day period.

Thank you for your visit, Kim. The weather was interesting to photography through the car window. It was a bit chilly when we stepped outside though.

Thank you for your very kind comment. I guess it is typical April weather but the temperatures seemed cooler than usual.

Winter is mostly done but it is still quite cool. We had a day here and there of warmer weather but nothing to write home about.
