Meet Little Elina

Hi everyone,

I wrote here about the new children I sponsor in Zambia.  I learned there is also a little girl named Elina who desperately needs help.  She has a medical condition where her bones are too soft and they break.  She is not able to go to school and needs help to get special food to help her health. She also needs a special kind of wheelchair to help her family move her around the bumpy terrain.

My friend Shelby is looking for 5 sponsors who could give $10 a month to help this dear child get medical attention, proper food, clothes and schooling.

Elina now has 3 sponsors who will give $10 a  month.

We are looking for only two more people who can give $10 a month toward Elina's care.

If you can't give monthly but want to help out on a one time basis or give now and then, that is fine too! Some people even give $5. monthly. If you have any questions send Shelby an email here.

You can make donations on the Chileleko Christian School page (click here). Simply write Elina in your description.

We also have raised 200 toward the cost of a wheelchair and are trying to find a supplier in Zambia.  If you could pray that Shelby & Pastor Emmanuel can find a good wheelchair supplier that would help so much.  If you want to contribute toward the wheelchair fund, that would be awesome! You can click here and find the donate button.

There are also many children already in school that need your help. You can browse the blog and read more about the children.

Thank you so much!

What about a one-time donation. Is that possible? Some of us live from month to month, according to our retirement or paychecks. Let me know.

Oh, Joyful, you are such a good person to advocate for Elina. Poor dear child. Honestly, I wish I had a LOT of money. Causes like this are truly worthwhile.

Right now I'm facing some very high cost dental care and I have no insurance. (I'll probably opt for pulling the tooth, even though I wish I could save it.)

Thank you for making the world a better place.

What about Cynthia's question? Sincerely, Susan

Children with special needs receiving the resources that they need is very close to my heart. Do you know the amount the wheelchair will cost? I would like to give but will need to wait until my next paycheck. Do you think it would be possible to create an ongoing fund/donation box for Elina through chip-in or something similar? That way maybe those of us who would like to make one time donations or give when possible would be able to do so to go towards her greatest needs.

Cynthia, a one time donation is very possible. Thanks so much for your giving heart!

Hi Susan, I understand how expensive dental work can be. If your circumstances change or if you have friends who can help, it is only $10. a month for Elina and other children through Shelby's group can be sponsored for $11.50 a month (the $1.50 covers her wire transfer costs). Blessings.

Hi Rebecca, there is a donation box here http://www.chilelekochristianschool.blogspot.ca/

and a donation can be made at any time! Thanks so much. (I'll pass on your suggestion).

p.s. the cost of a wheelchair is question at present since we don't have a firm supplier. It could cost close to $400 plus the shipping fees since it will likely have to be purchased in Lusaka which is rather far away. A cheap wheelchair can be purchased for a fraction of the cost but it will not last on the terrain or be suited for the child.

This must be so difficult for Elina and her parents. Hoping her lief will soon be a little easier and pain free.
